MASON BATES' Spring Flower Rivers By MoonlightThrough the Philadelphia Orchestra, USCCI commissioned the Grammy-winning contemporary composer Mason Bates for a new work inspired by “Spring Flower Rivers By Moonlight,” an extraordinary poem of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 A.D.). The remarkable craft, lyricism, and humanistic spirit associated with Tang-era poetry resonates across time and cultures, making it an ideal vehicle for cultivating human understanding between nations. The work was premiered during the Orchestra’s 2024 China Tour and received its U.S. premiere at the Philadelphia Orchestra's 2025 Lunar New Year concert.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center 2024 China TourUSCCI supported the China tour of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center from October 17 to November 4, 2024, which included concerts and educational master classes for communities in Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, and Tianjin (home of Tianjin Juilliard).

U.S. PREMIERE OF ÉMIGRÉUSCCI supported the U.S. premiere of Émigré, a multimedia oratorio co-commissioned by the New York Philharmonic and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, by renowned film composer Aaron Zigman with lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winning librettist Mark Campbell and lyricist Brock Walsh. Emigré reflects an important story of the 20,000 Jewish exiles who escaped the Third Reich and found refuge in Shanghai between 1933-1941.

Hao Jiang Tian talks about "Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems"USCCI facilitated a preview and conversation event at Asia Society with the directors and performers of the iSING! Suzhou International Young Artist Festival for “Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems,” in anticipation of its U.S. premiere by iSING alumnae and The Philadelphia Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall (Lincoln Center) in January 2023.

Haochen Zhang's complete Beethoven Concerti Album with the Philadelphia OrchestraUSCCI led the major effort to fund the production and promotion of a complete recording of Beethoven’s piano concerti by Haochen Zhang, Gold Medalist of the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, in collaboration with The Philadelphia Orchestra.

On September 30, 2019 at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall, the concert “Wellington Koo the Diplomat: a Life in Song” celebrates Wellington Koo’s diplomatic contributions and China’s relationship with America through history. This multi-media presentation was directed by film director Sherwood Hu consists of narration using Koo’s own words from his autobiography by actor Luoyong Wang, Broadway’s original lead in Miss Saigon. Live performances accompanying the video are by Metropolitan Opera soprano Ying Huang and bass-baritone Shenyang, international violinist Dan Zhu, wunderkind pianist Niu Niu, Pingtan performers Haihua Huang and Jinghui Wu, and a world premiere chamber work by Peng Peng Gong. This event also kicked off the newly designated Chinese American Heritage Week, recently established by resolution from the New York State Senate.
